Wendy's Drink Sizes Jason Moore

Is it possible that Wendy's obtains an advantage with adding an additional drink size for their value menu?

The most distrubing tidbit here is that Wendy's SMALL drink size is 20 oz ($1.39)!  The strange part about this story is that they offer a "Value Size" drink (16 oz.) for $0.99.  Is there even a remote possibility that the additional manufacturing, shipping, stocking, and storage costs can be off-set by the addition of this size?

Why not combine these two drink options?  What's more puzzling is why they offer the larger of the two with their combo meals.  I propose, they eliminate the 20 oz. drink and make the Value Size the official Small on the menu.

The amount of money they would lose on Small Drink sales would be easily countered by saving the extra 4 ounces of soda/ice served with each combo meal.
